Mount Desert Island and Bar HarborA stop on Mount Desert Island is essential when visiting Acadia National Park. The Island boasts 17 mountains including Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the North Atlantic seaboard. The road that winds to the top of Cadillac Mountain is about 3.5 miles long, and provides spectacular views, pink granite, and spruce forests along the way.
On the eastern side of Mount Desert Island, you'll find the village of Bar Harbor. Here you'll find a great place to stay while visiting the sights of Acadia National Park.
