Florida Keys: Adventures and Beauty of Florida Keys

No matter where you live in the world, vacationing in the Florida Keys is a great choice for beauty, recreation, and relaxation. From Key Largo to Key West, the Florida Keys are filled with fun activities and spectacular scenery.

Key Largo

Known as the dive capital of the world, Key Largo boasts some fantastic dive operators and dive sites that are sure to astound you with their color and abundance of marine life. Be sure to check out Key Largo's gorgeous marine park, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, bordered on the East by the United States' only coral barrier reef.

Even if you're not a diver, you can still experience the beauty of the reef. You could start with snorkeling or, if you don't want to get wet at all, try a glass bottom boat for an up-close view of all those exotic fishes.

Key Largo is also famous as a sport fishing location. You can fish for sailfish offshore, bonefish in the Atlantic shallows, or redfish and tarpon in Florida Bay.

If water sports aren't your idea of a fun vacation, many other fun things can keep you active in Key Largo, including:

  • parks
  • beaches
  • sightseeing tours
  • eco-tours
  • wildlife displays
  • theater
  • dolphin encounters
  • art galleries
  • photography.
For some fantastic wildlife viewing, note that Key Largo is bordered on the west by the Everglades National Park, where wildlife viewing is some of the best in the world.

Key West

Key West is southern-most city in the continental United States. Whether you're a land-lover, water-lover, or simply a beach bum, Key West has activities for your vacation, all set in a beautiful backdrop of sandy beaches and luxurious sunshine.

Just like Key Largo, Key West also offers spectacular diving and snorkeling opportunities. In addition to viewing the aquatic life surrounding the coral reef, you can also participate in some great wreck dives. Night diving is popular and glass bottom boats are also available for up-close fish viewing without getting your hair wet.

Here are some of the many other activities that Key West has to offer:

  • museums
  • parks
  • beaches
  • eco-tours
  • fishing charters
  • shopping
  • kayaking
  • water sports
  • theater
  • sightseeing tours
  • sunset cruises
  • dolphin encounters
  • golf
  • art galleries
  • photography
  • snorkeling
  • diving.
You'll find a fantastic vacation opportunity somewhere in the Florida Keys. So have fun, enjoy the sights, and don't forget the sunscreen!
